Family Medicine Faculty Position

WVSOM is seeking physicians to join our Family Medicine program. These can be tenure- or non-tenure track faculty positions. Candidates should be residency trained and be Board Certified or eligible in Family Practice. Ideally the successful candidate will have clinical and teaching experience. The successful candidate must be able to be licensed to practice medicine in the State of West Virginia.

WVSOM is also seeking a Geriatrician to join our faculty. This position can be a full-time or part-time position with tenure or non-tenure track.  The position requires completion of a residency and Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice, as well as completion of fellowship training or a certification of added qualification in Geriatrics. Ideally the successful candidate will have clinical and teaching experience. The successful candidate must be able to be licensed to practice medicine in the State of West Virginia.

Academic, Clinic, and Hospital responsibilities may be shared within this position.  Academic duties include training medical students, interns and residents with the primary responsibility being instruction of first and second year medical students in the classroom, lab and/or in the clinic. Academic responsibilities may include preparing and delivering lectures, assisting in skills labs, and other small group activities. Academic duties may also include lecturing, assisting in skills labs and coordinating the geriatrics curriculum for years 1-4. Research is supported and participation in scholarly activities is expected.  This position does provide an opportunity for a clinical practice, which can include nursing home care and hospital responsibilities, if desired

Salary and faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and includes an excellent benefits package including medical malpractice insurance, educational loan reimbursement, and relocation expenses.  Our ambulatory clinic is a state-of-the art facility serving communities in the greater Greenbrier Valley
