Assistant Professors of Teacher Education

The Teacher Education Department at the University of Jamestown invites applications for two full-time Assistant Professors in elementary education to begin in August 2018.

The faculty members filling these positions will teach on-campus undergraduate courses such as elementary methods, early childhood literacy and development, children’s literature, and reading in content areas. In addition, faculty serve as student advisors, supervise student teachers, and are expected to participate in departmental and university initiatives and engage in scholarly activities.

An earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education, a current teaching or administrator license, and at least 5 years of teaching in grades Pk-6 are required as is a background in early childhood education, elementary curriculum and instruction, and elementary reading. Preference will be given to applicants who also have elementary science, math, or experience with diverse student populations. A.B.D. candidates and those with Master’s degrees may be considered.
