Assistant Professor of Bioinformatics

The MVSU Department of Natural Sciences and Environmental Health (NSEH) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at Assistant Professor rank.  Our focus is on candidates who have advanced skills in utilizing in-depth knowledge of bioinformatics algorithm tools and resources, computer programming (PERL, Python, R. etc.) and data integrations/data mining are strongly desired.  The candidate must be able to work in collaboration with others in the program to establish externally-funded research grants and contribute to graduate and undergraduate training.  A Ph.D. and expertise in bioinformatics, computer science, computational biology or a closely related field of genomics or biotechnology is required.  Applicants who combine laboratory investigations with the development and use of bioinformatics tools and those who focus on theoretical approaches in silico are encouraged to apply.
