The Office of Counseling Services at Old Dominion University is
seeking applications for two Professional Counselor (full-time,
12-month) positions. These positions will provide counseling and
counseling-related services to University students. These positions
will also provide mental health consultation and outreach services
to the University community.
Required Education: Master’s degree in counseling,
counseling/psychology, or social work from an accredited
institution.
Required Qualifications: Experience as a counselor
in college/university counseling center or in a mental health
agency. Knowledge of the practices, procedures, processes and/or
protocols for the provision of counseling services in a mental
health agency or college or university counseling center. Knowledge
of college student development. Demonstrated ability to supervise
mental health professionals in training. License eligible within
one year as a Professional Counselor or Clinical Social Worker.
Internship at a university/college counseling services center or
mental health agency. Completion of graduate internship at a mental
health agency.
Preferred Qualifications: Licensed in Virginia as
a licensed professional counselor or social worker. Experience in a
college counseling center which includes training practicum and
intern students.
