The Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 15, 2018. A Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA, regionally accredited and internationally recognized program is strongly preferred; an ABD from such programs is the minimum requirement. The doctoral degree is required for tenure. Teaching load may include undergraduate courses (e.g., Abnormal Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Behavior Therapy) and graduate courses in our Clinical Psychology Psy.D. program.

While the specific area of research and clinical expertise is open, candidates will be expected to supervise adult and child assessment and therapy cases in the department's clinic. We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience with, or an interest in, applied behavioral analysis. Applicants must have a strong commitment to teaching and advising and to developing an active program of scholarship that encourages student involvement.

The Psychology Department (www.psychology.eku.edu) has 23 full-time faculty members, approximately 700 undergraduate majors and 80 graduate students, and offers four graduate programs: Psy.D. in Clinical (we expect to apply for APA accreditation in summer, 2017), M.S. programs in I-O and general psychology, and the Psy.S. in School Psychology (NASP accredited). The Department offers Bachelors of Science degrees in Psychology and in Animal Studies. The Psychology Clinic (a training, service, and research facility) offers a variety of clinical and research opportunities with adults, children, and families, including work with individuals with autism/developmental disabilities, play therapy, and animal-facilitated therapy.

The department has a history of collaborative research with other academic departments and community agencies. EKU serves more than 16,000 students and is located in the central Bluegrass area of Kentucky, about 25 minutes from Lexington.

Review of applications will begin on March 7, 2017, and will continue until the position is filled. Qualified candidates must apply to requisition number 0621984 at http://jobs.eku.edu.
