    Teach a range of computer science and Creative Media (CM) courses and work with the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) specialization of the Associate in Science in Natural Science degree program. Work collaboratively with colleagues to support information and computer science (ICS) classes in support of various degrees. Work with colleagues to identify, plan, develop, and implement curriculum and learning strategies to meet student, special population, college, and community needs. Perform related work activities including, but not limited to: advising and counseling students; preparing/adapting/revising Student Learning Outcomes and Assessment strategies for all courses; developing and/or redesigning curricula for online and other distance education applications; participating in campus-related activities; independently planning, organizing, and carrying out instructional and non-instructional assignments. Evening, weekend, television, distance education, and off campus (i.e. Moloka’i, Lana’i, and Hana) classes may be assigned as part of regular workload. Provide college and community service. Participate in professional development activities related to program development. Perform ICS related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
    Master’s degree in Information and Computer Science OR Master’s degree in related area with coursework related to courses to be taught OR Bachelor’s degree in Information and Computer Science and Master’s degree in related field. All minimum qualifications must be met by the effective date of appointment.
Desirable Qualifications
    Strong preference given to candidates with teaching experience, preferably at trade school, community college, or post-secondary level, including non-traditional hours, in the area of Computer Science, especially programming classes. PhD in Information and Computer Science or related field. Demonstrated knowledge through course work, in-service training, workshops and/or work experience of programming languages, PC technology, Windows operating systems, and web development. Experience in designing, building, and testing computer programs and websites. Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Javascript, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Perl, and Assembly. Evidence of effectiveness in teaching computer science and/or web development courses, including laboratory sections. Knowledge through course work and/or experience with educational technology, distance education, and alternative educational delivery systems. Work experience in business, government, industry, and/or non-profit organizations demonstrating practical application of academic content. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, and to communicate clearly verbally and in writing. Experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Experience teaching in the first two years of a Computer Science degree. Experience with curriculum/program development.
