The Department of International Studies at American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates seeks to hire a full-time faculty member at the instructor level to teach introductory courses, in particular INS 120 Global Problems. Instructors teach 24 credits (8 sections) per academic year and have reduced research and service obligations.
Successful candidates will have a master’s degree or higher in political science, history, foreign service or another field related to international studies, a record of excellent teaching, and the ability to develop courses at the 100 level.
As a university formed on the American model with English as the language of instruction, American University of Sharjah will give priority to candidates who have substantial experience in American models of higher education.
