Oxford College of Emory University www.oxford.emory.edu invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy, to begin August 1, 2018. The initial appointment will be for one year (possibly renewable for up to three years). Teaching responsibilities include 3 courses per semester, and will include a course in the candidate's AOS, a course in Emory's 3-course history of Philosophy sequence, and courses at the introductory level.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in Philosophy by time of appointment, with a specialization in either Asian, Africana, or Latin American philosophy. In addition to teaching courses for first- and second-year students in their area of specialization, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, and the ability to teach either introductory Ethics or Logic as well as a course in Emory’s history of philosophy sequence. The ability to teach bioethics is also desirable.
