The College of Health Sciences at the University of Delaware is offering comprehensive healthcare models in its clinics at the STAR campus since its launch as STAR Health in 2016. STAR Health features three clinics; a Nurse Managed Primary Care Center, Delaware Physical Therapy Clinic, and a Speech, Language, and Hearing Clinic, that are all open to the public. The Health Sciences Complex also houses core labs for use by teams of clinical and academic researchers. These shared spaces encourage basic scientists, clinicians, physician scholars, and students to work together conducting interdisciplinary and translational research that changes people’s lives. These research labs then provide opportunities for patient oriented research and offering of new treatment and care services in our clinics based on new research findings. Using research and education to take healthcare in a new direction, STAR Health provides high quality, cost-effective, primary medical care, physical therapy, speech therapy, mental health services, care coordination, nutrition counseling, exercise counseling, health coaching, a Parkinson’s Disease clinic and a concussion clinic and educational programs for the community. Also offered are employee health and wellbeing programs for faculty and staff.
The Director of Clinical Operations and Compliance (DCOC) will oversee the clinics and provide oversight of operations including budgets, management, and compliance. Under limited direction of the Dean, the DCOC will serve as a member of the leadership team with a wide scope of responsibilities. The incumbent should have experience in healthcare provider operations and compliance management, leading a variety of processes with ability to work in an clinical, educational, research, and collaborative group setting. The position requires a Masters Degree in Health Care Administration, Business, or Health Information Management, or a related area with seven years of management experience in healthcare industry. Knowledge national trends, issues and best practice compliance and operations standards in health-related programs and clinical services. Certification in health care compliance or internal auditing is preferred.
