About Our Lady of the Lake University:  Our Lady of the Lake University is a small, Catholic, private university with a deep connection to the history and community of San Antonio. Computer Information Systems and Security Department:  The CISS Department at OLLU has five full-time faculty members and offers bachelors and masters degree programs that are certified by the National Security Agency (NSA).  In addition, the University has been recognized as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the NSA and Department of Homeland Security.  It is one of an elite group of universities nationwide to receive the designation.  The university incorporates a technology-rich curriculum in all areas of study, and provides access to a wide variety of high-tech resources.  The undergraduate program is designed to prepare students to help develop, manage, and protect information systems and networks in any sector of the economy.  The Master of Science in Information Systems and Security prepares information technology professionals to assume technical management positions requiring advanced preparation. CISS department programs help students prepare for multiple industry certifications and are tied to the federal government’s objectives that encourage training and development of skilled professionals in order to protect the nation’s information technology infrastructure.  Graduates of these programs have pursued successful careers in a wide range of information systems areas, including computer and network security, database development and management, information assurance and security, information systems development, networking technology and administration, and web development and administration. 

Job Description:  The CISS Department seeks a full time tenure track Assistant Professor in Computer Information Systems and Security beginning Fall 2018, pending final budget approval. Primary responsibilities include: 1) teaching undergraduate and graduate courses using multiple modalities in one or more of the following areas: information assurance and security, networking technology and administration, and other core computer information systems subject areas; 2) advising and mentoring students; 3) maintaining a strong portfolio of scholarship; 4) developing and nurturing partnerships with the IT and IA professional communities; and 5) supporting the collaborative work of the department, school, and university through active participation in academic service. 

The candidate will teach a variety of courses in the day program and online.  Some travel to satellite campuses and teaching on Saturdays may be required periodically.
