Dean for the College of Letters, Sciences;  This college is comprised of departments in Biological Sciences, Business and Information Technology, Chemistry and Geochemistry, Computer Science, Health Care Informatics, Liberal Studies, Mathematical Sciences, Network Technology, Nursing, and Professional and Technical Communication, as well as programs in Statistics and Writing.  The College offers thirteen bachelors and two master’s degrees.  A terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in an area relevant to the programs in the College of Letters, Sciences, and Professional Studies is required.  The Dean will have responsibility for all aspects of operations and budget control within the College.  The successful candidate is required to have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative/budget experience at the department head level or higher in a regionally accredited university and is expected to be able to demonstrate a personal history of high quality instruction, externally funded research, and publishing in a faculty setting.  Candidates must hold or have held the rank of full professor at a regionally accredited university.  Montana Tech is recognized nationally and internationally as a STEM focused institution with strong engineering and science programs.  The College of Letters, Sciences, and Professional Studies has 72 tenure-stream faculty and an annual enrollment of around 600 students.  The Dean is an administrative leader and serves as a key member of the university leadership team. The Dean serves at the pleasure of the Chancellor and reports to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Provost. The Dean is expected to uphold, expand, improve, strengthen, and successfully seek external support for existing research, scholarship, instruction and multidisciplinary efforts.
