Job Overview:

The Department of Criminology and Justice Studies is seeking a full-time tenure-track assistant professor beginning Fall of 2018. This new colleague will add to a growing criminology and justice program that emphasizes comparative justice; community-based/experiential learning; urban crime and justice policy; and justice informatics and analytics. We seek candidates who are grounded in theories of criminology and social control, and whose research and teaching may be informed by one or more of the following substantive areas: geography and/or ecology of crime; urban ethnography; race, gender, crime and justice; technology and the justice system; corrections and the criminal sanction; and global/comparative criminology and justice. Consistent with our evolving multi-disciplinary objectives, the Department of Criminology and Justice Studies has established research and curricular partnerships with other academic units on the Drexel campus -- such as the College of Computing and Informatics, and the Lebow College of Business, as well as the Dornsife School of Public Health, and the Thomas R. Kline School of Law. We invite collaborative colleagues across a diverse methodological spectrum to apply for this position.   

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Criminal Justice/Criminology or a field that relates to one of the substantive areas identified above is required (ABD candidates must have earned their terminal degrees prior to their appointment date).

Essential Functions:

The incoming faculty member will be expected to publish and seek grants in their area(s) of expertise, serve the department and college on committees, and to teach at all levels in our undergraduate program.
