Community Outreach Coordinator
Location: Moscow, Off Campus Location - Potlatch/Plummer

Position Summary:
The Community Outreach Coordinator coordinates service delivery, manages recruitment, organizes community outreach efforts, and implements evaluation strategies for a University of Idaho sponsored educational opportunity project which provides services to assist underserved populations in completing purposeful secondary schooling, enrolling in, and succeeding in programs of post-secondary education. Major responsibilities include: Promotion of services to target community; providing information on post-secondary and career choice options; providing academic and financial aid assistance to eligible participants wishing to pursue a program of postsecondary education; and documenting and evaluating project services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelorâs Degree in relevant field;
Knowledge of: concepts and factors related to educational
opportunity for underserved populations including low-income,
first-generation individuals; issues/factors relating to the
mission of the organization including the socio-economic complexity
and educational and cultural characteristics of the population
served;
Knowledge of: local, state, and federal laws relating to the
program purpose and goals; computer operation and software
programs; program planning and implementation; conducting
independent research;
Experience in: student service delivery; TRIO programs and/or
similar programs; in planning and coordinating educational
activities; teaching, supervising, or counseling non-traditional,
under-represented students;
Requires: Comprehensive analytical skills; comprehensive project
management skills; intermediate technology skills; and,
comprehensive communication skills; and
Must possess a valid driverâs license and be able to meet the
universityâs driving requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masterâs degree in relevant field;
Knowledge of: risk management as it relates to college going
processes and procedures;
Experience with: major program planning, coordination and
implementation; developing professional, productive relationships
across a community in order to provide services; program
evaluation; staff supervision; writing reports; and developing
policies and procedures;
Willingness and ability to visit with potential students where they
are located, e.g. various local educational institutions, public
agencies and community organizations; and
Ability to work well within a team.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Requires working evenings and weekends when necessary, and
occasional overnight travel.
