Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, Social Work

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte School of Social Work invites applications for an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position. This position is a full-time, 9-month appointment with an anticipated start date of August 15, 2018.

For Assistant Professors: We welcome candidates with strong academic records, achievement in or the potential for original research and scholarship, success in or the potential to secure external funds for their research, and a commitment to quality teaching, scholarship, community engagement, and social justice.

For Associate Professors: We welcome candidates with strong academic records, achievement in original research and scholarship, success in securing external funds for their research, and a commitment to quality teaching, scholarship, community engagement, and social justice.

High priority experience and scholarship needs are child welfare, integrative behavioral health, and social justice, but candidates with research expertise in other areas are also strongly encouraged to apply. This position will have teaching responsibilities in the BSW Program, MSW Program, and/or the College of Health and Human Services Health Services Research doctoral program. All faculty members provide service to the University, community, and profession.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a doctorate in social work or a related field or expect completion of the requirements for a doctorate by August 15, 2018. If a candidate possesses a doctorate in a related field, an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program is required. Two years of full-time post MSW practice experience or equivalent qualifications are required to teach practice courses. Candidate should also demonstrate ability to contribute to diversity initiatives as articulated in the School's mission.
