This position provides direction, leadership and vision for the Office of Fraternal Leadership and Learning. The incumbent oversees the daily operations of the office, develops and maintains fraternity and sorority strategic initiatives and manages recruitment efforts, develops educational programming, oversees assessment and risk management initiatives and manages departmental budgets and expenditures. This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students.

Job Responsibilities

Manages operations, provides vision and strategic direction, and staff guidance for the Office of Fraternal Leadership and Learning.

Facilitates personnel matters: interviews, trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of staff. Manages departmental budgets and expenditures.

Manages fraternity and sorority recruitment and intake processes and life strategic initiatives. Develops and coordinates educational programs and efforts to support scholastic excellence. Oversees risk management and assessment initiatives.

Serves as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents and other constituents regards to fraternity and sorority life matters.

Establishes recruitment budget and provides oversight to fraternity and sorority leadership on budget related matters. Serves as chair of the Fraternity and Sorority Facilities Committee.

Oversees the construction and/or renovation process for fraternity and sorority facilities.

Consults with appropriate university departments, local departments, and others to provide educational direction to students regarding security, safety, and code compliance.

Communicates with local, district, regional, national and international fraternity and sorority life directors and executive officers.

Serves as a liaison to university and community leaders on recruitment schedules and activities.

Coordinates and participates in processes for creation of promotional materials concerning the University’s fraternity and sorority life organizations.

Serves as a member of the crisis response team. Communicates with local officials, university officials, and parents on student crisis related matters.

Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring Department.

1. Directs operations and personnel within the Office of Fraternal Leadership and Learning.

2. Develops and maintains fraternity and sorority strategic initiatives and manages recruitment efforts.

3. Creates and manages educational and training programs.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Student Personnel, Counseling, Education, Business Administration, or a related field.

AND

Experience: 
Three (3) years of experience related to the above described duties.

Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
