The Leadership Giving Officer’s primary responsibility will be the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospects at the Leadership Gift level $50K - $250K+ and the qualification of prospects at the $100K+ level.  The LG Officer’s efforts will cultivate relationships with key prospects that will pay off immediately through increased University support, and over the long term as prospects are identified and cultivated for future major gifts.  Under the guidance of the Director of Major and Leadership Giving and in collaboration with other officers within the unit, the LG Officer will have an opportunity to work with key alumni communities, develop strong relationships with the University’s leadership, and make 10 – 20 annual solicitations for gifts of $50K - $250K+.

 

Please note:  This position is posted as a JG10 / JG11. The job grade of the position will be determined by the number of years of experience of the finalist; 3-4 years will be a JG10, and 5+ years will be a JG11.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree and 3-4 years related experience (e.g., fundraising, research, sales, marketing, management, etc.), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to identify/cultivate/solicit/steward prospects with the potential to give both at the $50K - $250K+ level.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications. Planning, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Comfort in dealing with a wide range of University constituencies and with individuals of considerable social status and affluence is required.
  • Ability to apply good judgment; tact and discretion is required to deal with highly confidential information.
  • Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and word processing applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel) along with demonstrated comfort in dealing with calendar programs and the Internet.
  • Must be a “self-starter” with the ability to work independently as well as on a highly collaborative team.
