Responsibilities: Directs and coordinates all human resources activities including recruitment and employment services, compensation, benefits administration, policy and procedure development, and employee relations. Serves as a key strategic Institute resource by actively participating in the development of Institute financial and human resources strategies, identifying and researching relevant human resource issues and contributing to Institute strategic thinking on those issues. Supports executive leadership by routinely providing human resource advice, counsel, and participating in key strategic human resource decisions.

Directly supervises the Associate Director, Benefits Coordinator, HRIS Analyst, HR Generalist and the HR Assistant with the Payroll Manager reporting to the Associate Director; manages all human resources operations; serves as the responsible Institute Official for coordinating the process of obtaining legal employment authorization for foreign national faculty or staff serving as Liaison with the immigration legal counsel; continually updates job knowledge and advises management on industry trends and employment legislation; enhances department and Institute reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests as well as those that are routine and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments; serves as an advocate for employees where appropriate; provides counseling and assistance as necessary; complies with all federal, state, and local legal and regulatory requirements; and serves as an ex-officio member of the Employee Relations Committee.

Qualifications: Master's degree preferred; bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required; five to seven years of progressive responsible experience in human resources required; SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification and higher education administration experience strongly preferred; exceptional ability to interact and communicate with all Institute constituencies; demonstrated service oriented attitude.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver's license with acceptable MVR (motor vehicle report); SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification strongly preferred.

Salary:  Commensurate with experience and qualifications; excellent fringe benefits package offered for this full time position.
