The Department of Teacher Education at Weber State University is
seeking applicants for a tenure-track position in the area of
educational technology. Position responsibilities include:
- Teach a full time graduate and/or undergraduate load of 12 hours
per semester
- Participate in departmental, masters student, college, and
university committees
- Participate in scholarly activities including publishing,
presenting, and grant writing
- Render professional service to campus and community
- Interact positively and ethically with colleagues, students,
local school personnel, and community members
- Supervise students in practicum and student teaching
Minimum Qualifications:
- Earned doctorate in education or education-related field by September 1, 2018.
- At least 3 years K-12 teaching experience in US/Canadian public or accredited private schools or equivalent.
- Current or past teaching license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in educational technology, including current trends
in educational technology, cloud applications, apps,
interactive whiteboards, etc.
- Working understanding of cross-platform systems (i.e., Apple and
Microsoft OS)
- Higher education teaching experience
- Ability to enact sound pedagogical practices
- Evidence of scholarly writing (e.g. research, grant
writing)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Field-based supervision experience
- Experience and/or expertise in collaborating with public school
personnel
- Experience with pre-service or in-service teacher development
