Tenure-track, 10-month Assistant Professor
in Physical Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry beginning
August 2018. Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry or closely related field.
Postdoctoral experience or undergraduate teaching experience
desired. The department is particularly interested in candidates
with expertise in experimental physical chemistry but strong
candidates in computational or theoretical physical chemistry will
also receive full consideration. Candidates who bring diverse
viewpoints to their teaching and research efforts are particularly
encouraged to apply. Faculty are assigned an instructional workload
of six (6) course units per academic year for the first year.
Beginning the second year the workload reverts back to the standard
instructional workload of seven to eight (7-8) course units per
academic year with the possibility of reassigned time for
scholarship or additional service. The primary teaching load will
consist of physical chemistry courses as well as general chemistry
courses at the introductory level. Review of applications begins
February 19, 2018 and continues until the position is filled.
