  1. Duties and Responsibilities
    1. Teach a range of undergraduate level courses in accounting, finance and management emphasizing small businesses and e-commerce, provide leadership in curriculum development emphasizing student learning outcomes, assessment, program review, student retention, persistence, graduation rates, and overall program and college marketing for UH Maui College’s baccalaureate degree program in Applied Business and Information Technology (ABIT).
    2. Other related work activities include, but are not limited to: ABIT program leadership, advising and counseling students, assisting in campus-related student activities; participation in faculty/administrative committees, community service, and in-service training; maintaining an approved program of professional self-development; conducting limited applied research; collecting data and preparing reports; preparing/adapting/revising course objectives and student learning outcomes; independently planning, organizing, and carrying out instructional and non-instructional duties. May include assignments involving distance education. Evening, weekend, and outreach (e.g. Molokai, Lanai, Hana), classes may be assigned as part of regular work. Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Instructor, CC: Master’s degree in Business or a related field from an accredited institution with at least two (2) years of successful full-time or part-time teaching experience.
  2. Assistant Professor, CC: Doctoral degree in Business or a related field from an accredited institution with at least five (5) years of successful full-time teaching experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Teaching experience at both the baccalaureate and community college levels.
  2. Demonstrated ability to teach a wide range of accounting, finance and management courses both in traditional classroom settings and through distance education.
  3. Experience in curriculum development emphasizing student learning outcomes and program review at the undergraduate level.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse learners.
  5. Computer competency in new generation business, business related, and information technology programs.
  6. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and members of the community.
  7. At least three years of work experience in the business area.
  8. Demonstrated success as a business entrepreneur.
  9. Experience in Applied Research.
