Description:
College of DuPage seeks full-time, tenure track faculty member/s to teach English courses starting in August, 2018. This position will specialize in the teaching of developmental or basic writing.

Faculty duties include classroom instruction, assessment, curriculum development, advising students, professional inquiry, committee work and engaging with instructional technology.

Teaching responsibilities may include both stand-alone developmental writing courses and co-requisite, accelerated, or paired sections of developmental and first-year college writing.

Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and/or blended formats during days, evenings and weekends.


Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in English, with a concentration or significant coursework in composition and rhetoric or the teaching of developmental/basic writing required. Doctoral degree in English, with a concentration or significant coursework in composition and rhetoric or the teaching of developmental/basic writing preferred.
  • Teaching experience at the college level required. Teaching experience at the 2-year/community college level preferred. Teaching experience with diverse populations preferred.
  • Experience with co-requisite or accelerated models of developmental education preferred. Additional certification or training in the teaching of developmental reading or literacy preferred.
  • Experience with team-teaching, cohort, and/or learning communities models preferred.
