FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The English Department at LaGuardia Community College is seeking
highly motivated and innovative candidates to fill multiple
tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor or Instructor
level.
The Assistant Professor or Instructor will teach developmental
writing, college composition, and literature; provide academic
advisement for students; actively participate in departmental and
college-wide initiatives, including curriculum development and
professional development activities; and be engaged in scholarly
activities, including publications and conference
participation.
LaGuardia Community College, located in Long Island City, Queens,

QUALIFICATIONS
For Assistant Professor:
Ph.D. in English or related field required. Significant scholarly
and/or related professional activity preferred. Also required are
the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarly
achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of
the institution.
For Instructor:
Master's degree in English or related field required, and advanced
progress toward a Doctorate. Also required are the ability to
teach successfully, interest in scholarship and ability to
cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
