POSITION: Assistant Professor in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (Trans Studies)

EFFECTIVE DATE: August 20, 2018 (Fall Semester)

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in humanities or social science with expertise in the fluid and contingent nature of gender and sexuality.
Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2018.
Demonstrated effectiveness for teaching and research in Trans Studies, broadly defined which can include a trans methodology which articulates how transgender, transnationalism, and/or other possible critical iterations of "trans" integrates analysis across established categories of gender, nation, race, and sexuality and highlights relationships among these categories.
Demonstrated record of excellence in the following areas: teaching interdisciplinary gender and sexuality studies; research and publishing in fields relevant to trans studies; capacity for student mentorship; aptitude for service at all levels of the university.
Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.
An interest in innovative directions and scholarship in Trans Studies.

DESIRED/PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
Expertise in trans studies including but not limited to trans*/transgender studies, feminist transnationalism, trans feminism, gender variant theories, and transmigration.
Ability to design new courses in field of expertise and contribute to the development of the Department with current and cutting-edge scholarship.
Demonstrated success teaching lower and upper division courses
Demonstrated ability to mentor a diverse body of students
Evidence of academic service
