The Department of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Administration at Columbus State University seeks an innovative full-time, tenure track, Assistant Professor of Political Science. Candidates must demonstrate experience in MPA related courses with specific reference to Public Budgeting. The successful candidate will also be able to teach both graduate and undergraduate related courses. This position is begins August 2018. 

Teaching responsibilities include both undergraduate and graduate level courses. The successful candidate is expected to serve on various departmental, college, and university committees; engage in scholarly research and grant activities; and understand and develop online instructional courses as needed. The successful candidate will use active learning strategies which increase student engagement in the learning process. 

Candidates should have an earned doctorate in Public Administration or Political Science.

Review of applications will begin November 15, 2017 and will continue until the position has been filled. Applications for part-time and full-time faculty positions must include transcripts of all academic work, and official transcripts must be presented prior to campus visit if selected for interview. Applicants must have the ability to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements, in particular a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
