The Departments of English and Women’s Studies of Old Dominion University invite applications for a jointly appointed tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The new hire will have scholarly expertise in Women’s Studies and Rhetoric.  Qualified candidates will bring teaching experience and an active research program in feminist rhetorics. The ability to offer graduate courses, supervise theses/dissertations, deliver online instruction, and mentor students in both departments is required.  Preference will be given to candidates who engage with intersectionality, woman of color feminisms, and/or womanist theory.  Core course rotations include rhetoric, feminist theory, gender and technology, and/or film/new media production.

Requirements: PhD in Women’s Studies, English with a Rhetoric focus, or a closely related field, by Aug. 15, 2018; demonstration of successful college/university teaching; and evidence of active research agenda.
