Texas Tech University School of Theatre and Dance seeks applications for a tenure-track appointment beginning August 2018. Primary responsibilities are teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in dramaturgy.  A secondary teaching emphasis in new play development, directing, movement, or stage combat and an active record of dramaturgy/performance scholarship/practice that includes community engagement and/or collaboration is preferred. Candidates should continue to engage in nationally/internationally recognized creative/professional practice, and/or scholarship. A desire to promote a diverse student population and community engagement; an ability to work collegially with faculty, staff, and students; and a willingness to fill leadership role in school, college and university activities and professional associations are vital.  Pursuit of external grants in support of research or creative activity, when appropriate and available in the faculty member’s field, is encouraged.   Qualifications: the ideal should have an active record of dramaturgy/performance scholarship/practice that includes community engagement and/or collaboration, familiarity with current and cutting-edge practices in dramaturgy, performance, and pedagogy, and sufficient experience in teaching related to the position of hire.
