Position: VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, (Position #117450), Instructional Design and Technology. A nine month, non-tenure earning, faculty position (1.0 FTE) with an opportunity to teach during the summer.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications: Completed Ph.D. in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Instructional Design and Technology, Educational Technology, Performance Improvement, Performance Technology, Human Performance Technology, Organizational Development, Learning Sciences, or closely related discipline by the time of appointment from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. (or ABD with completion by start date) in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Instructional Design and Technology, Educational Technology, Performance Improvement, Performance Technology, Human Performance Technology, Organizational Development, Learning Sciences, or closely related discipline from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching and service, an established research agenda that will guide the candidate's scholarly career in applied research and contribute to the national dialogue on important issues in the candidate's field of study. Experience with Quality Matters and the design, development, and implementation of online learning experiences.

 

Duties: The position requires innovation in teaching and learning, professional development, a commitment to collegiality, academic citizenship and cultural diversity. The Department of Instructional, Workforce and Applied Technology and the College of Education and Professional Studies emphasize community engagement and high impact educational practices.

 

The successful candidate will teach fully online, graduate and undergraduate level courses, in Instructional Design and Technology. Expertise in the following areas is preferred:

  • Emerging Learning Technologies
  • Human Performance Technology
  • Instructional Systems Design

 

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research agenda, contributing to the national dialogue on important issues in the candidate's field of study, and provide service to the department, college, university and community. The successful candidate will also provide direct student support through supervision of Bachelors and Masters level capstone projects, participation on Doctoral level comprehensive exam and dissertation committees, and active mentoring.
