Advertising/Posting Title: Health Sciences Faculty Position
The College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Vermont is seeking an individual to make a significant contribution in the growth and development of our new Health Sciences (HSCI) program. Responsibilities will include teaching within the Health Sciences curriculum, academic advising and facilitation of field experiences. This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position on a nine month appointment open to individuals holding an advanced degree and expertise in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Health Education, Community Health, Health Promotion or other -related field. A Ph.D. is preferred; however, individuals with a Master’s degree and relevant experience will also be considered. The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and will be able to build collaborations with community-based, local, regional, national and international health related organizations. Candidates with an interest and/or experience in project planning and health services research are highly desirable.
UVM’s HSCI program, established in 2015, is located within the Department of Medical Laboratory and Radiation Sciences which is part of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. This undergraduate program prepares students for careers in health related fields through a core curriculum that integrates social, behavioral and analytical areas of health science. There are abundant opportunities for inter-professional collaborations in teaching and research with the Vermont Department of Health, the University of Vermont Medical Center, The University of Vermont Health Network, the Vermont Cancer Center, the UVM College of Medicine, and the College of Arts and Sciences.
