The Chesapeake College Board of Trustees and Presidential Search Advisory Committee are conducting a national search for the College’s sixth president. Founded in 1965, the College is governed by a 10-member Board of Trustees and serves the five counties on Maryland’s Upper Eastern Shore. As the first regional, public community college in Maryland, Chesapeake College operates with a regional governance structure that is unique in the state.

The College seeks a new leader with a passion for community colleges and for the Eastern Shore—one who will inspire the community to expand educational opportunity in the region and actively promote community and economic development.

The next president will have the opportunity to enhance collaboration and establish partnerships in a rural setting; create new training opportunities to support the regional workforce demands; and develop a cohesive campus community.

For best consideration, applications and nominations should be submitted by December 1, 2017. Applications will be held in strict confidence and should include a resume and a two to four page letter specifically addressing the applicant’s background in relation to the characteristics and qualifications described in the “Prospectus” which may be seen at www.chesapeake.edu/presidential-search. Application review will begin in December 2017. Individuals who wish to nominate a candidate should submit a letter of nomination, including the name, position, address, telephone number, and email address of the nominee.
