Engineering

The Isermann Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY, seeks
outstanding faculty candidates for a full-time tenured position.
The opening is at either an Associate or Full Professor level. An
endowed chair may be available for exceptional and qualified
candidates. The new faculty member will join a vibrant department
at a time of unprecedented growth and renewal. This search will
focus on individuals whose research lies at the interface of
engineering and life sciences and further strengthens the
Institute’s signature thrust in Biotechnology.
The successful candidate must have earned a Ph.D. (or foreign degree equivalent) in Chemical Engineering or a closely related Science/Engineering field as well as demonstrated accomplishments over a sustained period of time (at least six (6) years) to qualify for a tenured faculty appointment at Rensselaer. Accomplishments must include success in conducting and publishing outstanding research; attracting research funding; an international reputation; a record of excellence in scholarship; high quality teaching and advising; and a significant level of professional service
The successful candidate will teach assigned undergraduate/graduate courses in the area of Chemical and Biological Engineering, establish and grow a robust program of sponsored research, mentor students, and engage in an appropriate level of service to the department, the school, and the Engineering profession.
