ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS - COLLEGE OF
NURSING
The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs provides leadership in all
facets of the academic programs including faculty and student
affairs, program coordination, program evaluation, resource
development and management, marketing and public relations which
support the urban university mission. The Associate Dean provides
leadership in the development of future goals and strategic
directions for academic programs in the College of Nursing.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants for this position must have:
• Earned research doctorate in nursing or related discipline with
qualifications for appointment as a tenured associate or full
professor in the College of Nursing.
• Master’s or higher degree in nursing.
• Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate
levels.
• Record of research and scholarly productivity.
• Previous experience in academic leadership.
• Unrestricted license as RN in Wisconsin or ability to become
licensed as RN in Wisconsin.
Preferred Qualifications:
Highly qualified candidates will also have:
• Record of community and university service.
• Experience in curriculum development, implementation and
evaluation.
• Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
• Effective interpersonal skills.

• Research experience/expertise in one or more of the following
areas: maternal and child health; community and global health;
scholarship of teaching, learning and simulation; gerontology;
bio-psycho-social and mental health interventions; informatics,
quality and safety; and/or self-management.
• Experience/expertise in teaching in one or more of the following
areas: mental health; gerontology; community and global health;
quantitative methods; philosophy of science and inquiry;
informatics, quality and safety; and/or monitoring, evaluation and
learning in complex systems.

ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - COLLEGE OF HEALTH
SCIENCES
The primary responsibilities in this position will be research,
teaching, and advising students in the Health Care Administration
program, including the Bachelors of Science degree in Health Care
Administration and the Masters in Health Care Administration. Our
focus is broad, and we encourage people with research and teaching
interests in the area of healthcare finance, health economics,
health policy, healthcare management and healthcare quality to
apply. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain
a robust program of research scholarship that seeks extramural
funding and will teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD in Health Care Administration or related field, or MD, JD, or
other equivalent degree. Candidates with PhD completion by the
appointment start date will be considered.
• Potential for establishing an active research program.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Specialist certification or association with the American College
of Healthcare Executives such as ACHE Fellow (FACHE).
• Community Service.
• Evidence of undergraduate and graduate level teaching.
• Professional experience (e.g. professional position, internship,
consulting) in health care administration or a comparable area such
as health care policy and/or health care economics.
• Potential for securing extramural funding.
