The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is a Doctoral/Research Intensive University and one of the three original campuses comprising the 16 campus University of North Carolina system. Current enrollment totals approximately 20,000 students.

 

The School of Health and Human Sciences is one of five professional schools, in addition to the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Visual and Performing Arts that comprise the University. The School currently enrolls over 3,800 undergraduate and graduate majors in eight academic departments and one program: Communication Sciences and Disorders; Community and Therapeutic Recreation; Human Development and Family Studies; Kinesiology; Nutrition; Public Health Education; Social Work; Peace and Conflict Studies and Genetic Counseling.

 

The School announces the following faculty positions, beginning August 1, 2018:

 

Department of Human Development and Family Studies

Assistant Professor with specialization in family studies and a research focus on family and other intimate relationships among diverse populations. The ideal candidate would have a strong scholarly record that attends to context, is methodologically rigorous, and complements one or more of the department’s additional core research areas including sociocultural context, human development, and young children’s care and education.

 

Department of Kinesiology

Academic Professional Assistant Professor (non-tenure track) Teach and develop core content courses in the Department of Kinesiology at the undergraduate level, with possible teaching at the graduate level.

 

Academic Professional Assistant/Associate Professor (non-tenure track) with specialization in Sport and Exercise Psychology (50% appointment in the Department of Kinesiology and a 50% appointment in the Intercollegiate Athletics Department). Responsibilities include working with college athletes, supervising graduate students working with college athletes and teaching Applied Sport Psychology courses.

 

Assistant/Associate Professor with specialization in Clinical Exercise Physiology. Responsibilities include teaching in Clinical Exercise Physiology area at the graduate and undergraduate levels and establishing/maintaining a strong independent research program to include pursuit of external funding.

 

Department of Peace and Conflict Studies

Assistant Professor with specialization in theory-driven practice and community engagement across local, national, and international contexts in the areas of group conflict and reconciliation, civic engagement, peace operations, and working with diverse populations.

 

(2) Academic Professional Assistant Professors (non-tenure track) with specialization in theory-driven practice and community engagement across local, national, and international contexts in the areas of group conflict and reconciliation, civic engagement, peace operations, and working with diverse populations, and experience in undergraduate student advising and partnership development for student engagement.

 

Department of Public Health Education

Associate Professor with specialization in maintaining a productive program of research that complements and/or extends departmental strengths, participate in collaborative research programs as appropriate to his/her interests, teach and mentor in the department's graduate and undergraduate programs, take a strong role in doctoral student development, and provide service to the department, school, university, and profession.

 

Department of Social Work

AP Assistant/Associate Professor (non-tenure track) with specialization in instructing courses across both the BSW and the MSW Programs, therefore a history of successful teaching is essential. We seek an individual with strong clinical experience. The successful candidate will have an earned Master’s Degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited school of social work, an active North Carolina Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) credential, and at least 5 years of post-LCSW clinical experience. Experience with evidence-based interventions, theory, effective clinical practices, and integrated health care practice a plus.

 

Associate Professor with a national reputation and a well-established research agenda in community engaged scholarship in behavioral health (mental health, alcohol and drug prevention/treatment), aging, health/well-being, child welfare, or social justice. However, candidates with other research expertise are invited to apply. The Licensed Clinical Social Work Credential (LCSW) is highly desired.
