Assistant Professor of Dance

Department of Dance

 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Dance faculty position in the Department of Dance, College of the Arts.

 

Position Responsibilities:

The Department of Dance at Kennesaw State University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in dance starting August 2018. Candidates must possess a technical emphasis in modern dance and have strong choreographic skills. In addition to teaching expectations, job responsibilities include institutional and professional service, as well as expectations to develop a peer-reviewed body of creative activity.

 

Required Education, qualifications, and experience:

M.F.A. earned doctorate, or the foreign equivalent in Dance. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered.

Two years of collegiate teaching experience is ideal, along with an established record of professional experience in the field.

Strong choreographic skills.

 

The KSU Department of Dance enrolls over a 110 dance majors, employs 16 full/part time faculty, and is housed in a state-of-the-art dance facility, including a newly opened dance theater. Concentrations in ballet and modern dance are offered through the B.A. in Dance, that was started in 2009. The KSU Dance Company has received top honors at the American College Dance Association and has been invited to perform at the Kennedy Center in four successive national years.
