Department of Dance

 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of Dance faculty position in the Department of Dance, College of the Arts.

 

Position Responsibilities:

The Department of Dance invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer position in dance starting August 2018. Candidates must have experience developing and teaching online courses. Other ideal qualifications include curriculum development, graduate level teaching, student advising, and teaching general education courses. Experience working with diverse student populations and good written/oral communication skills are necessary for success in this position. Additional departmental service may include opportunities to expand undergraduate coursework.

 

Required Education, qualifications, and experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

MFA in dance, earned doctorate, or the foreign equivalent. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered.

Online collegiate teaching experience. Established record of artistic or scholarly professional experience in the field of dance.

 

Ideal Qualifications:

Two years of online teaching experience and course development.

Experience as an online course coordinator.

 

The KSU Department of Dance enrolls over a 110 dance majors, employs 16 full/part time faculty, and is housed in a state-of-the-art dance facility, including a newly opened dance theater. Concentrations in ballet and modern dance are offered through the B.A. in Dance, that was started in 2009. The KSU Dance Company has received top honors at the American College Dance Association and has been invited to perform at the Kennedy Center in four successive national years.
