SCHEDULE:

The position is a full-time, tenure track or tenured position with teaching during the fall and spring semesters, with the possibility of summer school and online teaching. Classes and other responsibilities are conducted primarily weekdays, but could include some evening classes and independent studies. Attendance will also be required at some evening and weekend events.

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, development of significant scholarly endeavors, innovative curriculum development, advising students, and serving on university committees.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The School of Engineering and Engineering Technology at LeTourneau University, Longview, TX invites applications from individuals with an enthusiastic and contagious Christian faith for a tenure-track position in Mechanical Engineering beginning in the Fall of 2017. The candidate must also be in genuine agreement with the University’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant for life and work at LeTourneau.

 

Applicants must have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate engineering education including laboratory instruction. This position will include instruction of undergraduate and graduate students in classroom and laboratory settings. Desired areas of expertise include solid mechanics, machine design, energy conversions, and thermal and fluid sciences.  Of special interest are candidates with the ability to teach instrumentation, experiment design, and data collection in a laboratory setting. Candidates must hold a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution and a Ph.D. in a closely related field. Industrial experience and foreign missions service are highly desirable. Successful candidates will demonstrate evidence of outstanding potential in undergraduate teaching.
