The Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS)
at Florida State University is pleased to announce a Specialized
(Teaching) faculty position in the Leadership Studies program,
which is situated in the Higher Education program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Specialized Teaching position (non-tenure track) this position
requires instruction for four (4) classes in the Fall and Spring
terms, with the possibility of additional teaching opportunities in
the Summer. This position is the result of Florida State
University’s pledge to improving the overall university
student/faculty ratio and class size.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Florida State University has a commitment to leadership education,
as seen through the Undergraduate Certificate in Leadership
Studies, undergraduate leadership course offerings, and the
Leadership Learning Research Center. . The Undergraduate
Certificate in Leadership Studies is a partnership between the
Department of Leadership and Policy Studies in the College of
Education and the Center for Leadership and Social Change in the
Division of Student Affairs. It is an 18-credit, interdisciplinary,
and experiential program that prepares students for leadership in
multiple contexts.
Leadership education has expanded to include multiple course
offerings and the new Leadership Learning Research Center (LLRC).
The LLRC informs and supports scholars, educators, and
practitioners regarding leadership teaching and learning through
scholarship, curriculum development, and consultation. The strength
of the LLRC resides in its theory-to-practice-to-theory framework,
where research is directly applied to both curricular and
co-curricular leadership education. You are welcome to learn more

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates for this Specialized (Teaching) Faculty position include
an earned doctorate in leadership studies, higher education, or
another academic discipline with an emphasis in leadership, higher
education administration, or student development.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
We seek an individual who can contribute to our emphasis on
leadership, social justice, and student success and who is
committed to undergraduate instruction and advising. The ideal
candidate for the Specialized Faculty position will demonstrate
ability and commitment in promoting and fostering a supportive
learning environment, as well as knowledge in curriculum
development, and has experience teaching undergraduate
students.
