The Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty positions (9-month) beginning Fall 2018 to strengthen our research program core area of host-microbe interactions. These positions offer numerous opportunities for the successful candidates to establish productive collaborations within the department as well as across various colleges and schools at Auburn University. Candidates are expected to establish an extramurally funded and nationally recognized research program and participate in the development and teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in virology, microbiology, immunology, cell biology, or a related field. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in microbiology, virology, cell biology, or a related discipline, and excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Virology: We seek candidates who are addressing fundamental questions regarding viral pathogenesis including replication, transmission, persistence, and Applicants with research programs focused on virus-host interactions are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications include multiple years of postdoctoral experience, a strong record of publication, and potential for extramural funding. Candidates selected for these positions must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of the appointment and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
