Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education

 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor of Public Health Education position in the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education, WellStar College of Health and Human Services.

 

Position Responsibilities:

Nine-month, full-time, tenure-track position to support the BS in Public Health Education (BSPHE) program. Ideal qualifications include experience teaching core coursework in program planning, research methods and health policy. In addition, candidates are expected to engage in research, departmental, college, university, and professional service activities.

 

Required Education, qualifications, and experience:

Candidates must have an earned terminal degree in public health, health education or a closely related field or the foreign equivalent, at the time of hiring. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered. Candidates should have strong potential for securing external funding and/or have an established record of peer-reviewed publications commensurate with experience.

 

The BSPHE program is housed in the Department of Health Promotion and Physical Education. The Department is also home to an undergraduate Health and Physical major and minors in Public Health Education and Coaching. The Department supports the University with a required core course, WELL 1000: Foundations for Healthy Living, and provides an array of elective physical activity classes. The HPE Department is one of four units in the WellStar College of Health and Human Services which have as their central focus the health, physical fitness, and human service needs of our community.
