Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership
Department of Educational Leadership
Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership faculty position in the Department of Educational Leadership, Bagwell College of Education.
Position Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership, the Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership is expected to take a leadership position in teaching and expanding the Department’s degrees and courses in Educational Leadership, preparing candidates for leadership roles in Georgia’s traditional public, public charter, and independent schools. This role included, but is not limited to, program development and revision, coordination, assessment, and recruitment/promotion. The candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate level (through doctorate), work in P-12 settings, advise candidates, supervise dissertations, maintain an active research agenda (with expectations commensurate with rank), and provide service to the Department of Educational Leadership, Bagwell College of Education, and Kennesaw State University. Courses are delivered on-site, off-site, online, and as hybrids. This is a nine-month tenure-track position.
Ideal Qualifications:
Experience as a building principal A strong record of teaching graduate courses in Educational Leadership programs, including online teaching Building or system level leadership experience in traditional public, public charter, virtual, and/or independent schools Experience working in doctoral programs and serving on/chairing dissertation committees Experience with university/P-12 school partnerships Experience in program development, assessment, and recruitment/promotion Experience in school operations and finance. Strong preparation and experience in research methodology and/or data analytics
Required Education, qualifications, and experience:
Doctorate in Educational Leadership or a closely-related field from an accredited university or the foreign equivalent. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered. ABDs close to completion will be considered; however, doctorate must be conferred by August 1, 2018 Evidence of the ability to conduct scholarly activity at a level commensurate with her/his appointment. The Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership is completely online. The Department has an innovative orientation and prepares leaders for traditional public, public charter, and independent school sectors, with a unifying focus on professional preparation for service to P-12 schools. The Department prides itself on engagement with and responsiveness to the profession of educational leadership and P-12 education. The Department is dynamic and is currently developing a program in Higher Education Leadership.
