Department History and Philosophy

 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of History faculty position in the Department History and Philosophy, College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

 

Position Responsibilities:

The Department of History and Philosophy invites applications for a non-tenure track Lecturer of History to begin Fall 2018 to teach the world history survey. Area of specialization is open; however, candidates may have the opportunity to teach upper division undergraduate courses as needed by the program. Typical responsibilities include teaching 27 semester credit hours per academic year. In addition to teaching, the lecturer is expected to hold office hours, attend department meetings, engage in service to the department, and provide academic advising to students. Faculty teach courses in a variety of modalities including face-to-face, hybrid and online. The position is renewable, pending satisfactory performance.

 

Required Education, qualifications, and experience:

Minimum qualifications include the doctorate in History or the foreign equivalent. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered. The ideal candidate will have at least two years university teaching experience.

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is the largest college at KSU, enrolling more that 7000 students in 30 undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
