The A-State Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management
(DPEM) Department is searching for candidates to fulfill a
12-month, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant
Professor.
The individual in this position will also serve as the Program
Director for the department. The Program Director oversees all DPEM
academic activities.
Faculty members are expected to teach the assigned course load
each semester, and maintain research and service activities as
designated by the faculty handbook for program directors and tenure
track positions.
In addition to regular faculty duties, as Program Director
additional duties include providing administrative oversight for
all academic Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management
activities, such as the Associate, Bachelor’s and Master's Degree
programs, and the Minor and Graduate Certificate.
The individual in this position will represent DPEM program
activities to stakeholders of the program, college and university,
engage in community development of DPEM, oversee, develop and/or
provide continuing education opportunities related to DPEM, mentor
faculty in teaching, research and service, and lead assessment and
revision of curriculum.
In addition, the chosen candidate must demonstrate fiscal
accountability for program funds, as well as accountability and
collegiality within the profession, academy and program.
This position requires frequent travel and after-hours engagements.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate in Emergency Management or related field, as well as
appropriate certifications/licensures commiserate with degrees and
experience.
Demonstrated experience in administration, and a viable program of
research (historical, recent and current).
Practical experience in the discipline.
