Chair Professor/Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor (Digital Media Studies) [Ref. E/255/30]
School of Creative Media
Duties : Make significant contribution to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and advise postgraduate research students; play an active role in curriculum development, management, and design; maintain an active research profile; actively seek external grants and contracts to support research endeavors; provide service to the School and University governance; and contribute to professional engagement, networking, and outreach activities that enhance the academic and professional life of the School.
Requirements : A PhD in related disciplines and being an interdisciplinary scholar in the area of digital media studies, with a strong focus on digital art and media aesthetics and the relation between technology, science, art and society. The ideal candidate would have conducted research that engages with theories of new technologies, their social impact, and their relation to media art. Possible areas of specialization include: software and platform studies; theory and history of new media; algorithmic culture studies; philosophy of art and technology; theory and history of sonic art; media archeology; digital humanities; and critical media studies.
Salary and Conditions of Service
Remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance. Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable). Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
