Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science faculty position in the Department of Computer Science, College of Computing and Software Engineering.

 

Position Responsibilities:

Candidates must have an earned Ph.D in computer science by August, 2018. Candidate’s research interest and expertise have to be in computer science. Preference will be given to candidates working on one or more of the following fields: big data analytics, Information Assurance and Security, Internet of Things, Parallel and Distributed Computing, Computer Science Education. All candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching, and have demonstrated potential in research.

Successful candidate will be expected to teach Computer Science at graduate and undergraduate levels (preference will be given to candidates teaching Artificial Intelligence and Computer Graphics at graduate and undergraduate levels), to supervise under/graduate students to do research, to establish an externally funded research program, and be involved in service activities.

 

Required Education, qualifications, and experience:

Candidate must have an earned Ph.D in Computer Science or related field, or the foreign equivalent is required. Applicants with the equivalent to the minimum degree in training, ability, and/or experience may be considered. Equivalency guidelines provided in the KSU Faculty Handbook.

 

The Computer Science Department offers:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. This program is fully accredited by ABET (the Accreditation Board for Engineers & Technology). The program provides a blend of the foundations of CS and applications in the information technology industry. Bachelor of Arts in Applied Computer Science. This innovative and interdisciplinary Computer Science program opens doors to a variety of computing careers. Master of Science in Computer Science. This program offers students a true graduate-school experience in the exciting discipline of Computer Science, with high expectations and intensive learning.

Ph.D in Analytics and Data Science. This program is developed to meet the market demand for Data Scientists. This program will train individuals to translate large, structured and unstructured, complex datasets into information to improve decision making. Graduate Certificate in Computer Science Foundations. This certification develops a breadth of knowledge across the computer science discipline, necessary to sustain graduate study in Computer Science.

Certification in High Performance Cluster Computing. The certification is offered at both undergraduate and graduate levels, which serve students interested in developing expertise and credentials in the exciting areas of High Performance Computing Cluster (HPCC System), and Big Data Analytics using LexisNexis Risk Solution Inc, technologies.
