Antioch University’s distinctive Ph.D. in Leadership & Change seeks an experienced senior-level scholar-practitioner whose research and practice engages students, inclusive communities and diverse workplaces with issues related to leadership & change. Preferred but not exclusive areas of expertise include higher education leadership, community-based leadership, and policy and social advocacy for the common good.
This is a rigorous low-residency, outcomes-based, cohort-based program with 170 Doctoral students from around the globe, all of whom are experienced practitioners in a wide array of sectors and professions. Its paradigm-shifting model blends face-to-face residencies at Antioch campuses nationwide with a dynamic geographically dispersed community that supports individualized and collaborative learning.
The successful applicant must have: a Doctorate in area related to curriculum; an established record of research and practice relevant to leadership & change; experience teaching applied research; substantial experience with graduate students with dissertation experience highly preferred; comfort with academic technology tools in teaching and learning; commitment to inclusive processes working across difference to educate the whole person; a lively spirit of academic experimentation and a belief in the power of education to win victories for humanity.
Must be excited by the prospect of building a unique Doctoral program with a collaborative team of passionate faculty colleagues.
Primary responsibilities: Teaching theories, research and practices of leading change; evaluating student research; facilitating learning within geographically dispersed student body; advising; chairing and serving on dissertation committees; collaborating with interdisciplinary faculty team in program governance.
This is a full-time position at Full Professor level with benefits. Multi-year rolling contract. Faculty work from fully equipped home offices anywhere in U.S. Quarterly travel required. Start date is Fall 2018, some flexibility.
