Tenure-track Assistant Professor Position in Organic Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry at Purdue University, West Lafayette, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Synthetic Organic Chemistry with particular interests in drug discovery and medicinal chemistry. Successful candidates will have a joint appointment in both the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology (75:25 appointment). Purdue has a tradition of excellence in both synthetic organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry and is seeking to enhance this preeminence through strategic hiring. The Department is looking to integrate a creative scientist into the cutting edge interdisciplinary environment provided by Purdue University. 

Successful candidates are expected to have a doctorate degree in chemistry or a related field, to develop excellence in teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, and to establish a vibrant research program supported by extramural funding.  Applicants should submit a letter of application with curriculum vita, a summary of planned research, and a statement on teaching philosophy electronically at:  www.chem.purdue.edu/facultyopenings.
