The Computational Biology Institute and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the GW Milken Institute School of Public Health are recruiting for 1-2 full-time tenure track or tenured faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate(s) will develop a  program of sponsored research with the Computational Biology Institute, and teach and mentor graduate students in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Academic rank, salary and employment position are competitive and will be commensurate with experience. The Computational Biology Institute seeks faculty members to establish externally funded, internationally recognized, and interdisciplinary research programs in bioinformatics and/or computational biology in an area such as genome analysis, biodiversity informatics, translational medicine, public health, cancer, neurobiology and systems biology developing methods to address ‘big data’ issues from a computational perspective.

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics oversees the MPH, MS and PhD programs in epidemiology, MPH program in biostatistics, and the MS program in public health microbiology and emerging infectious diseases. The Department collaborates with the Department of Statistics for the MS and PhD programs in biostatistics.

Basic Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD or PhD conferred prior to the time of application in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Genomics, Epidemiology or a related discipline, with postdoctoral research experience; as well as experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals, proposing and/or implementing funded research, and teaching graduate and/or undergraduate courses in their area of expertise.

Responsibilities: The successful candidates will devote approximately 50% of their efforts to obtaining, implementing or overseeing funded research, and 50% to teaching, mentoring, and educational administration.
