Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Physics faculty position in the Department of Physics, College of Science and Mathematics.

 

Position Responsibilities: The Department of Physics in the College of Science and Mathematics at Kennesaw State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Physics position in Experimental Condensed Matter and Materials Physics to begin August 2018. Current research in the department in this area includes bioactive glasses; nucleation and crystallization studies; thermodynamics, and spectroscopic analysis in glassy materials; thermal and electrical transport in materials; and optical properties of materials including laser-matter interactions. Candidates for this position must show potential for producing high-quality refereed publications and securing extramural funding as well as a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Applicants in all areas of Experimental Condensed Matter and Materials Physics will be given full consideration, however, we are particularly interested in applicants who can complement and enhance the existing research in the department.

 

Required Education, qualifications, and experience: Applicants must have an earned doctorate or the foreign equivalent in Physics or a closely related field. Applicants with the training, ability, and/or experience equivalent to the minimum degree may be considered. The ideal candidate will have postdoctoral experience, a significant record of research and peer-reviewed publications, and strong potential for developing an externally-funded research program.
