COLLEGE OF ARTS & SCIENCES

Chemistry & Biochemistry:

Assistant Professor, full-time tenure-track, with expertise in Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry committed to teaching excellence, working with diverse communities, developing a research program involving undergraduate students, and providing service to the campus community. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related field (ABD will be considered).

Communication

Assistant professor, full-time tenure-track in communication and media to teach core courses in the communication major (media studies, media ethics, oral communication, public relations, written and visual rhetoric). A PhD in communication or related field is required. The ability to teach courses from a culturally diverse standpoint is desired.

English

Assistant professor, full-time tenure-track in English to teach written and visual rhetoric and first-year composition courses (expository writing; argument and research). A PhD in Rhetoric and Composition or English (preferably with a concentration in rhetoric and composition) is required. The ability to teach multi-cultural literature would be desirable.

Legal Studies and History

Assistant or Associate Professor, full-time tenure-track in Legal Studies and History. Required degrees are J.D. and MA/PhD in History or related discipline. Teaching responsibilities include a broad range of Legal Studies courses, as well as some introductory survey courses in History. Faculty member appointed to this position will direct both Legal Studies and accelerated B.A./J.D. programs.

Music 

Associate or full Professor for Music Department Chair, full-time tenure-track position, to oversee a department offering eight degree programs with 18 full-time and 51 part-time music faculty members, two full-time staff, 234 majors (undergraduate and graduate) and a Community Music School of 250 students.

Psychology

Assistant Professor, full-time tenure-track in Clinical/Counseling Psychology. Ph.D. preferred, along with a strong commitment to teaching courses in Clinical/Counseling and Introduction to Psychology. Related areas of interest might include Healthcare Disparities, Community Mental Health, Developmental Psychopathology, or Applied Neuropsychology. Experience in teaching is preferred, as is a record of research or interest regarding inclusion, diversity or marginalization.

Religious Studies Assistant Professor, full-time tenure-track in East Asian traditions, ethnographic research in country of origin and with U.S. diaspora preferred. In addition to teaching in area of specialization, will teach introduction to world religions and thematic topics across religions. Must be interested in engaging with local communities and Nazareth’s Hickey Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue.

Theatre and Dance

Assistant Professor in Professional Practice, full-time non-tenure track in Musical Theatre. Successful candidate will be an actively practicing artist with a significant background as an educator in musical theatre. Will serve as Director/Choreographer for musicals and will teach musical theatre, dance and performance related courses.

SCHOOL OF EDUCATION

Assistant Professor, full-time tenure-track in the areas of early childhood and literacy education. Successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to preparing pre-service and in-service teachers. Must be able to contribute to an inclusive cross-disciplinary model and be able to collaborate with urban, suburban and rural school settings.

SCHOOL OF HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES

Candidates for all Health and Human Services positions (except Public Health) must be eligible to be licensed in New York State.

Communication Sciences and Disorders (2)

Assistant Professor, full-time tenure-track in Speech-Language Pathology, CCC-SLP. Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching, optional clinic supervision, college and department service. Applicants with experience in voice, fluency, and craniofacial disorders will be given priority but applicants with other areas of expertise are also encouraged to apply. Assistant Professor, full-time tenure-track in Audiology. Seeking PhD in Audiology, CCC-A. Responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate teaching, audiology clinic supervision, college and department service. Teaching experience is preferred.

Nursing

Assistant Professor, full-time tenure-track in Nursing. Must have a graduate degree in nursing with an earned doctorate preferred. Candidate must have experience in teaching research and simulation at the undergraduate level.

Occupational Therapy

Assistant or Associate Professor, full-time tenure-track for Department Chair/Program Director for Occupational Therapy (BS/MS), with academic doctorate degree; experience in administration and clinical practice and scholarship. Additional responsibilities include coordinating OT department activities, assuring that ACOTE standards are met, advising students, guiding student research projects, and supervision in the on-campus OT Clinic.

Public Health

Assistant Professor, full-time tenure-track in Public Health. Must hold an MPH and be experienced in teaching program assessment & evaluation and epidemiology at the undergraduate level.

Physical Therapy (2)

Assistant Professor, full-time tenure-track in Physical Therapy. Seeking candidates with an earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc) who can work collaboratively with our team of current faculty. ABD candidates will be considered.

Assistant Professor, full-time clinical in Physical Therapy. Seeking candidates with an earned DPT, or currently pursuing a DPT degree, plus certification (ABPTS, or other physical therapy related certification, or advanced post Physical Therapy degree). Teaching experience and 3-5 years of clinical experience is preferred.

Social Work

Assistant or Associate Professor, full-time tenure-track position in Social Work. Ph.D. and 2 years post MSW practice experience is required. Teaching in the Greater Rochester Collaborative Master of Social Work Program of Nazareth College and the College at Brockport, SUNY and in the BSW Program of Nazareth College and will preferably possess skills necessary for administrative departmental leadership.

SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT

Information Systems

Assistant Professor, full-time tenure-track or clinical in Information Systems. Candidates must have the ability to teach a variety of courses to support requirements for the undergraduate degree programs in the School of Management and selected interdisciplinary degree programs in the College of Arts and Sciences. An earned doctorate in information systems or related field is preferred.

Integrated Marketing Communications

Assistant Professor, full-time tenure-track or clinical in Marketing and Marketing Communications. Candidates must have the ability to teach a variety of courses to support the requirements for the undergraduate marketing degree and the graduate integrated marketing communications degree programs in the School of Management.

An earned doctorate in marketing, marketing communication or related field is preferred.
