President
Decatur, Georgia (Metro Atlanta)

The Board of Trustees of Agnes Scott College invites nominations, expressions of interest and applications for the position of president. Serving as the ninth president of the college, the successful candidate will succeed Elizabeth Kiss who will step down in June 2018 after serving with extraordinary distinction since August 2006.

The college seeks a new president with a deep commitment to Agnes Scott’s mission of educating women to “think deeply, live honorably and engage the intellectual and social challenges of their times.” Agnes Scott’s next president will build upon the college’s storied history as well as the considerable successes of the past decade. The new president will be a bold and inspiring leader who can engage the diverse community in further developing and executing a clear, contemporary and distinctive vision for a liberal arts education for women that serves society and sustains the college on the path to a successful future.

The new president will be a leader of impeccable integrity and judgment with outstanding communication, relationship-building, change-management and execution skills, who will build upon SUMMIT, the college’s distinctive signature experience, and other key elements of the college’s strategic plan, adapting and changing where appropriate to meet emerging challenges. The college seeks a leader who inspires excitement about the Agnes Scott mission, connects and engages meaningfully across multiple constituencies and serves as a role model for Agnes Scott students and alumnae. The next leader will be an effective public advocate, regionally and nationally, for the college and for the value of a liberal arts education.

Inquiries, nominations and applications are invited. Agnes Scott especially encourages interest from women, candidates of color and others representing a diversity of experiences and perspectives. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. For fullest consideration, applicant materials should be received by October 15, 2017. Candidates should provide a curriculum vitae, a letter of application that addresses the responsibilities and requirements described in the appropriate sections of the Leadership Profile available at www.wittkieffer.com and the names and contact information of five references. References will not be contacted without prior knowledge and approval of candidates. These materials should be sent electronically via email to the college’s consultants Robin Mamlet, Sheila Murphy and Veena Abraham at ASCPresident@wittkieffer.com. The consultants can be reached by telephone through the desk of Leslie Donahue at 630.575.6178.

Agnes Scott College values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity for all persons regardless of age, color, disability, ethnicity, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status or any other status protected by law.
