California State University, Sacramento (Sacramento State), is seeking a talented, energetic and experienced professional to join the campus community as its dean for undergraduate studies.

The Office of Undergraduate Studies is a key administrative unit within Academic Affairs and provides oversight of all undergraduate degree programs at the University and academic support services that enhance and strengthen the culture of excellence and innovation for Sac State’s undergraduate students. The office provides supervision of the University’s general education program and supervision of a number of programs and initiatives that advance the student success goals of the University.
The dean for undergraduate studies reports directly to the provost and is part of the provost’s academic leadership team. The responsibilities of the dean for undergraduate studies encompasses oversight for all of the programs, activities, centers and functions within Undergraduate Studies; review of undergraduate degree programs and course proposals; oversight of general education and graduation requirements; coordination with Student Affairs on graduation and student advising including approval of course substitution forms and exceptions to required units; and the review and approval of special majors. The dean is a liaison with the chancellor’s office on matters and reports related to undergraduate degree programs.
